“The concept of bringing patients, pharma, payers, providers all together to discuss access challenges is so necessary, yet some seem hesitant to take this on. I applaud you guys for doing this.”
“I’ve never attended a conference that was so well-organized with so many topics of such high interest. The venue, food, and special touches were wonderful and showed how much time went into each detail. I learned so much myself from attending and was honored to serve as a speaker.”
“This was one of the most organized and well-run meetings I have attended in a long time. The scale of the meeting was perfectly sized and very navigable, and the content and speakers were top notch.”
2018 was one for the books.
Nearly 250 attendees convened at the brand-new JW Marriott Nashville on November 7-9, 2018, for the inaugural Crossroads: An Artia Solutions Conference.
We featured 28 speakers, 12 sessions, and three panel discussions. The sessions and panel discussions highlighted crucial Medicaid issues, including pharmaceutical trends, healthcare reform, federal and state regulations and state concerns.
Keynote speaker Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, Director, Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, kicked off Crossroads with a session addressing how to successfully navigate the medical, economic and social issues surrounding current patient access policy, while also discussing ways in which consumers can take better ownership of their treatment.
John Stancil, Director of Pharmacy and DMEPOS Programs at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Nancy Nesser, Director of Pharmacy at the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, and Kelli Newman, Director of Pharmacy at the Alabama Medicaid Agency, were awarded the Extra Mile Award on Thursday, Nov. 8. (Clemice Hurst, Pharmacy Services, accepted Kelli’s award at Crossroads and is pictured to the right.)
The Extra Mile Award is a prestigious honor created to recognize former or current state Medicaid officials who have shown continual concerted effort in doing or achieving something above what is expected. Their leadership qualities are esteemed by their peers and colleagues.
Speed Networking, a unique way for drug manufactures and state Medicaid officials to connect and network, was also debuted in 2018.
